hey peeps

hey people who have read this..check out tumblr..it is awesome and I just switched over so I don't end up double timing on both of these blogs :P http://mattisonaboat.tumblr.com

getting ready for the fall of adventure

Whats up? (thats rhetorical :P) I am really excited to be going on SAS. I really am fortunate to have this great opportunity to do so. I really want to experience what life is like in the other countries. I know a lot of the time I take for granted how fortunate I am to be living in the USA and have all these easy, accessible commodities to me. I'm going to combine my outgoing personality, interest in different cultures, and love for medicine, and study the healthcare of these other nations to see how they can be improved and what is being done to improve them. I also want to take the time to visit the place where my father was born. Casablanca, Morocco. Primarily, the Jewish area or what is left of it by going to visit those communities, and seeing the synagogues and what they are like there. Well that is all for now.. gonna get some shuteye.

Later.

First One :)

This is my first post on my first ever blog which is pretty cool ;) After all the work, and hours I put in to getting myself on this amazing Voyage. I am happy to know that I will have the opportunity to see more of the world than most people get the chance to in a whole lifetime. I can't wait to see different cultures and see the way they live. The big part of this journey for me is to see the daily problems that some of these lower SES countries and places might be dealt with, and how the health care is throughout these countries. I know it will be an eye opener and can't wait to begin it! Although, there are many things I have to get done before then...like the Visas to get into the country :P and a vaccination and malaria medication so I don't contract it. Well gotta run. Till next time.
